This year Maharana Pratap's birth anniversary is being celebrated across the country today i.e. on 13th June. Maharana Pratap was born in Rajasthan in the sixteenth century. According to the English calendar, he was born on May 9, 1540 in Kumbhalgarh. This day was the third date of Jyeshtha month, so according to the Hindi calendar, Maharana Pratap Jayanti is being celebrated on 13 June.

This is the 481st birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap. Maharana Pratap fought with Akbar many times in history. They also had to leave the palace and live in the forests. Maharana Pratap was the eldest of siblings

Maharana Pratap was born on 9 May 1540 in a Rajput family. His father Uday Singh II was the 12th ruler of the Mewar dynasty and the founder of Udaipur. The eldest of the siblings in the family, Pratap had three brothers and two half-sisters.

Considered one of the greatest warriors in Indian history, Maharana Pratap was 2.26 m (7 ft 5 in) tall. He used to wear 72 kg body armor and carried 81 kg spear.
